Don’t Forget The Engine Bay
It’s pretty easy to skip the engine bay because it’s out of sight and out of mind. The only time you actually open the hood is when you need to perform an oil change or check the battery. Aside from that, dirt, grime, and debris gets built up for months and years. That’s exactly why it often ends up being the most overlooked part of the vehicle.
At VIP Mobile Detail, we specialize in cleaning the top-side surface of your engine. Although the difference is noticeable, it can also help reveal signs of wear, such as fluid leaks.
This service focuses strictly on the visible upper parts of the engine bay. We won’t be lifting the car or going after the undercarriage components. We don’t have enough access to clean those parts effectively.

Here’s How We Detail Your Engine Bay
Our method is all about being thorough while protecting the sensitive components under the hood. It’s not a rushed job—every step is there for a reason.
Step One: Initial Inspection
Before anything else, we take a few minutes to look over the engine bay. This lets us spot any trouble areas and cover up things like batteries and alternators that need extra care.
Step Two: Clear Out the Debris
Over time, twigs, leaves, and all sorts of gunk can gather near the windshield and engine cover. We’ll remove all of that to get a clean working area.
Step Three: Spray and Scrub
A degreasing solution gets sprayed over the bay to break down buildup. We use multiple brushes—big and small—to work the cleaner into the crevices and around all the little nooks.
Step Four: Light Rinse
A gentle rinse clears off the loosened grime. No heavy water pressure here—just a soft, steady stream to rinse everything clean without causing damage.
Step Five: Thorough Dry
Next, we use microfiber towels and blowers to dry out the engine bay. These help us dry off every surface and give everything a crisp, clean finish.
Step Six: Finishing Touches
We apply a plastic and rubber-safe dressing to wrap things up. This adds a layer of protection while making those components pop with a natural shine.
Safe Engine Bay Detailing
A lot of our Galveston customers worry about water near electrical components, and honestly, that’s a fair concern. Water and electronics don’t mix if the process isn’t handled with care. That’s why we focus on safety first.
We don’t just do a heavy rinse while holding the pressure washer an inch away from the components. We limit water use, work with care around sensitive parts, and never soak the engine. Components like the battery terminals, alternators, and exposed wires are shielded before the cleaning begins. Then we follow up with hand-wiping where needed for added control.
Most newer cars come with plastic engine covers, making this cleaning process even smoother. But no matter the age or make, the goal stays the same—get it clean without taking risks.
